Two Days in Rome, ii

Posting photos of sunny Rome feels a little bit rude, seeing as they are in such stark contrast to the weather outside. And speaking of rude, I think someone needs to have words with September, because to burst in with such grey skies and cold winds without any warning – that’s no way to behave.

Usually summer declines a little, lingers for a while and then slowly rolls over and goes to sleep. But not this year! Autumn just flounced in like it owns the place and set up shop.

I would like to make a formal complaint, please?

I’m already making plans for a second trip to Rome. There is so much that I didn’t get to see, and quite a bit more that I didn’t get to eat. If you didn’t already know, which we didn’t, August is not the best month to visit Rome. Much like Paris, everyone leaves the city for a holiday and shuts up shop until September.

When we asked someone where a good spot was for dinner, they said “nowhere, everywhere is closed, you won’t find any good food in Rome now”.

Such a bummer. But I mean, bad food in Rome is still better food than most places so I have no complaints. Though, it left me wondering what the good food tastes like!

I guess we’ll just have to go back and find out…
