this weekend we went camping

in our living room!

this all started with my desire for a new bed. we have the ugliest bed ever, it's ikea's cheapest most horrible. but it was bought when we didn't have jobs, so it had to do. along with the worlds most uncomfortable/cheapest mattress, that had to do also.
but not anymore...

we bought a new mattress and decided to paint our horrible bed white in the hopes that it would make it look less horrible. but while it was drying we had to move our mattress into the living room and camp for three nights on the floor - and it was actually a lot of fun!

a safe place to curl up in the middle of the busiest place in the house, i find there's something so comforting in that. i guess it kind of reminds me of when i was little and it was acceptable to take naps wherever you felt like it and the world would carry on around you, keeping watch while you sleep.

this is the finished product. we put our old mattress underneath the new one for now because we don't have anywhere to take it or store it, so the bed is extra high. i feel like the princess and the pea. and didn't adam do such a good job of painting it white?
i don't think i've ever been so excited to go to sleep before...
